Keeping the inside of your car clean can be a daunting task, especially when it comes to the windshield. With constant exposure to the elements and daily use, the inside of your windshield can become dirty and covered in grime, making it difficult to see while driving. However, with a few simple steps and the right materials, you can easily clean the inside of your car’s windshield and ensure a clear view while on the road.

Once you understand the problems, cleaning the inside of your windshield is actually very easy.

The number one mistake people make when cleaning glass is using the wrong type of towel. A standard microfibre towel will not collect grease and dirt from your glass. It will also leave lint behind. And it won’t wipe away your glass cleaner properly.

I’m not sure why but many “experts” recommend using a regular microfiber towel for cleaning glass. But they just don’t do a good job. I find waffle weave towels to be the best.

The glass towel I recommend is The Rag Company – Standard Waffle Weave Towels.

The glass cleaner I recommend is Adams Glass Cleaner.

Top Tips for Cleaning the Inside of your Windshield.

  1. Use a quality glass cleaner designed for use in automobile glass.
  2. Use the right type of towel like Waffle Weave Towels.
  3. Don’t get too much glass cleaner on your dashboard as it can stain.
  4. Clean your windshield when the sun is shining through it so you can see the dirt.
  5. Don’t get any of your dashboard cleaners on your glass as they can be greasy.
  6. Don’t use a standard microfibre towel as it leaves dirt and lint behind.

What glass cleaner is best for the inside of your windshield?

Adams glass cleaner is really good. Just don’t use too much of it. If you get some on your dash wipe it off straight away.

Some glass cleaners are too caustic and might stain your dashboard if you spill anything on there. So I usually use a dedicated car windshield cleaner.

But if you do use something like Windex just spray it directly onto your cloth and not on the glass to avoid spatter.

Tinted windows can be damaged by some window cleaners so it’s best to stick to products that have been designed for safe use on tinted windows.

Conclusion

In conclusion, keeping the inside of your car’s windshield clean is an important task that should be done regularly to ensure a clear view while driving. With a few simple steps and the right materials, you can easily clean the inside of your car’s windshield and prevent dirt and grime from building up over time.

Always use a glass cleaner, and the right kind of microfiber cloth, when cleaning your windshield. Avoid using abrasive materials or harsh chemicals, and keep your car’s ventilation system on and the air filter clean to help reduce the amount of dust and dirt that gets inside your car. With a little bit of care and attention, you can enjoy a clean and clear view while on the road.

Hi, I'm Mike and I've owned and detailed black cars for over 30 years. In this blog, I want to share with you some of the things I've learned. Almost every car I've ever owned has been black. I just think it's the best color but it needs lots of work. I have seen too many people make the same mistakes over and over with their cars. Even if you only learn the right car washing and drying techniques from me, this blog has done its job. Mike [email protected]
